When did you know you wanted to be a Coach? Growing up, the coaches in my life were my greatest influences.  They impacted me, pushed me, and supported me through many seasons.  I have known for a long time that I wanted to do the same for kids. I also love this game and knew I wanted to be around it for as long as it will let me.

What do you do to improve YOUR skills each year? Keeping a growth mindset.  My wife would tell you I am “always” reading, researching, and talking baseball. I love it.

2019 District 23-6A Coach of the Year

“My goal as a coach is to create an authentic culture where guys strive to be the best version of themselves. It’s my responsibility to mold a group of individuals into a team that is able to communicate,  be responsible, and hold themselves accountable. I believe very strongly in athletics’ ability to prepare kids for life. Together we learn to overcome adversity, work as a team, and push ourselves beyond what we thought we were capable of to reach our goals.”

A few of Coach Jozwiak’s favorite games as a Brenham Cub were: THE hidden ball trick against Montgomery, Coach Williams’ first win at the Round Rock Tournament against Highland Park in 2013, and being a part of a perfect game and no hitter in back to back days in 2012.

As a member of the Islanders, Coach Jozwiak was proud to beat the University of Texas in 2016 and leading off the game the following year with a homerun against Texas at Whataburger Fields.

“I believe when a coach returns to his alma mater, there is an extra sense of passion or urgency to make a difference. I think I can provide kids and hopefully instill within them the positive expectations and GOOD pressure that comes along with playing sports in Brenham before getting to high school at the junior high level. I firmly believe regardless of where you are in this town or on this staff, it is the best place to coach because of the community, kids, and staff.” – Coach Jozwiak
